Today is a great day for the Larimer Creative District/RiNo/Hood. B-Cyle, who moved in downstairs from us, has installed a bike rental station right here on our block. Now, our agency and our whole neighborhood can rent a bike and cruise around the city, to the grocery store, the liquor store, the baseball stadium, wherever.
What the heck is a B-Cycle? Check it out here (link). It’s patterned after the highly successful Velib in Paris. The simple explanation is that you rent a bike from a B-cycle station (free for 1st half-hour, then $1 per hour or $5 per 25 hour) and the bike is yours for a time period. There are B-Cycle stations like this:
all over the downtown area, so when you’re done riding, you can leave it at any other station. This allows you to get from place to place in a metro area, easier. I’m hoping there is a station at Union Station so that I can ride the bus from Boulder, hop on a bike and drop it off right next to my office!
Hooray for public transportation, progressiveness and biking!
